Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what hosts and guests ask most. Tap a question to see its answer.

For hosts

Is Paanyaya free?

Yes. Everything Paanyaya does today is free. We may add a low-priced monthly plan with extras later, and what's free today stays free.

Do my guests need an account or an app?

No. Each guest opens their own link in any browser, on a phone or a computer. Only you, the host, signs in.

How do I send the invitations?

Each guest has a private link. Copy it or share it through Messenger, Viber, text, or email, one guest at a time or several at once. Paanyaya keeps track of who you've sent it to.

What kinds of events is it for?

Weddings, debuts, baptisms, birthdays, church gatherings, Christmas parties, and any celebration where each guest deserves their own invitation.

Can I use my own photo, like a prenup photo?

Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG, GIF, or SVG as the card's background, or add it on top of the card from the Photos tab, like a couple photo or a logo (up to 10 photos), or start from one of the ready-made designs. Big phone photos are made card size for you. Only use photos you have the right to use.

Can I change the card after sending the links?

Yes, until the day of the event. Guests always see the latest version when they open their link, so there's nothing to send again.

How do guests reply? Can they bring companions?

Guests tap Yes or No on their invitation. If you allow companions for a guest, they also say how many are coming, and they can leave you a short message. You can set a reply-by date, and turn on notifications to know when someone answers. Every reply and message also shows under Activity in your profile menu, so nothing is lost if a phone alert was missed.

How does check-in at the door work?

Guests who say yes get a QR code on their invitation. At the door, you or the helpers you choose scan it with a phone's camera, or check guests in by name. It keeps working when the signal is weak and catches up once it's back.

How many guests can I invite?

Up to 2,000 guests per event. You can add them one by one, or paste a whole list from a spreadsheet.

Can I add guests who live abroad, with a phone number from another country?

Yes. Next to the phone number box, pick the country (or just type the number starting with + and the country code, like +1 650 253 0000). Paanyaya starts from the country you're in, or the country of the last number you added to that event, so a Philippine number is still just 0917 123 4567. Numbers are checked against each country's own rules, so a mistyped one is caught right away.

Can I hold an online or hybrid event, like on Zoom or Google Meet?

Yes. When you make your event, add an Online meeting link (Zoom, Google Meet, Facebook Live, and others that start with https://). For an online-only event, leave the location empty. Each guest sees a Join online button on their own invitation, and the link goes into their calendar entry too. You can also give a single part of your program its own link, for example a streamed ceremony. The links aren't shown to guests who said no, on the public invitation link before someone joins, or after the event.

Can I download my guest list?

Yes. Tap Download guest list on your event page to get a spreadsheet that opens in Excel or Google Sheets: names, groups, contact details, replies, messages, and who arrived. Handy for your caterer, seating, and thank-you notes. Guests' private invitation links are left out, so nobody can use the file to open their invitations. It still has their contact details, so share it only with people who need it.

Is my guest list private?

Yes. Only you can see your guest list and your guests' contact details. Each guest sees only their own invitation, never the other guests.

What happens after the event?

Each invitation becomes a keepsake that guests can still open and save. You can add a thank-you note and a link to your photos, and the event is kept as a record of who came.

For guests

I got a Paanyaya link. Is it safe to open?

Yes. Real invitation links start with paanyaya.com/i/. Your link is your personal invitation, so keep it to yourself.

I lost my link or my QR code. What do I do?

Ask the host to send your link again. Your QR code is on your invitation once you've said yes.

Can I keep my invitation?

Yes. Tap Save card on your invitation to keep it as a picture on your phone or computer.
