Binyag invitation wording: samples you can copy
A good binyag invitation is short and warm, and it answers what every guest asks: when, where, and what time should we be at the church? Below are samples in English, Taglish, and Tagalog. Copy one, replace the [brackets], and make it yours.
What to put on a binyag invitation
- Your baby's full name, and a nickname if you like.
- The date and the time of the ceremony, not only the time of the party.
- The church and its city, so guests can find it.
- Where the salu-salo is, and when it starts, if it's somewhere else.
- The parents' names, written the way you want them.
- A reply date, and how guests reply.
- Any dress or color request, like white or pastel.

Asking someone to be Ninong or Ninang
Most families ask in person, or by message, before anything is printed or posted. Once they have said yes, you can name them on the invitation.
We would be honored if you would be [Baby's name]'s ninong/ninang.
The baptism is on [date] at [time] at [Church].
Please let us know by [date]. Thank you!
Gusto ka sana naming maging ninong/ninang ni [Pangalan]. Malaking karangalan para sa amin kung papayag ka.

Paki-sabi po sa amin bago ang [petsa]. Salamat po!
Tips before you send it
- Check the church's schedule first. Some parishes baptize several babies in one ceremony and set the time, so confirm with the parish office before you print or send anything.
- Give the time of the ceremony, then the time of the party. Guests sometimes arrive for one and miss the other.
- Send it two to four weeks before: early enough for guests to plan, late enough that nobody forgets.
- Put the reply date well before the event, so you can give the caterer your headcount.
- If you'd rather not receive gifts, say so kindly, for example: “Your presence is the best gift.”
Make it in Paanyaya
Pick a design, then open Wording samples in the card editor: these same wordings fill your card as separate text boxes in the design's own look, with your date, time, and place already in. Replace the [brackets] with your own words, and add your guest list. Each guest gets a private link that opens an envelope with their own name on it, and they reply Yes or No on the page, including how many are coming. You see every reply on your event page, and on the day, the QR code on each guest's invitation can be scanned at the door.

Questions
Should I put the Ninong and Ninang on the invitation?
It's up to you. Many families name them once they have agreed, and others keep the invitation simple and ask them personally. If you name them, put them below the details, so the baby's name and the date come first.
English, Taglish, or Tagalog: which should I use?
Use the language your guests speak at home. A mix is common, for example English details with a Tagalog greeting. Keep the date, time, and place in the clearest words, because those are what people need.
How do I know who is really coming?
Ask guests to reply by a set date. With Paanyaya, each guest answers Yes or No on their own invitation, and your event page shows who hasn't answered yet.
Is Paanyaya free?
Yes. Designing the card, sending links to every guest, replies, and check-in at the door are all free, with no ads on your guests' invitations and no watermark on the card.
