House blessing invitation wording: samples for a new home
A house blessing is a small, happy gathering: a prayer or blessing, a meal, and the people who matter to you in your new home. The invitation only needs the time of the blessing, the address, and a warm line. Below are samples in English, Taglish, and Tagalog. Pick one, replace the [brackets], and make it yours.
What to put on a house blessing invitation
- Your family name, or the names of those moving in.
- That it is a house blessing, a housewarming, or both.
- The date, and the time the blessing starts, since guests often arrive for the blessing and stay for the meal.
- The full address, and a landmark or parking note if the street is hard to find.
- What happens: the blessing, then a meal or a party.
- A reply date, so you know how many to feed.

A line about gifts
Guests often ask what to bring. A common custom is to bring something for luck and a good start in the new home, such as rice, salt, or a plant. You can say what you would like, or that nothing is needed.
Your presence is the best blessing. If you would like to bring something, [a plant / something for the kitchen / nothing at all] is welcome.
Ang pagdalo ninyo na ang pinakamagandang pagpapala. Kung gusto ninyong magdala, malugod naming tatanggapin ang [halaman / gamit sa kusina / wala po talagang kailangan].
Tips before you send it
- Confirm the blessing time with the priest, pastor, or whoever is blessing the house before you send anything.
- Put the blessing time first and the meal second. Guests plan around both.
- Add a landmark or parking note. New neighborhoods are hard to find on a map.
- Send it two to three weeks before, once the move-in date is certain.
- A small home fits only so many guests. Use the reply to keep your count, and ask guests to say how many they are bringing.
Make it in Paanyaya
Press Use on my card on a sample above to pick a design and start your card with these words, with your address and the time filled in. Replace the [brackets] with your own words, then add your guest list. Each guest gets a private link with their name on it, so your new address goes only to the people you invite. They reply Yes or No on the page and tell you how many are coming. The Open in Google Maps button on their invitation helps them find the house.

Questions
What is the difference between a house blessing and a housewarming?
A house blessing is the prayer or blessing of the home, usually led by a priest, pastor, or elder. A housewarming is the party that celebrates the move. Many families do both on the same day, with the blessing first.
Should I put my address on the invitation?
Yes, guests need it. With Paanyaya the address is on each guest's own private link instead of a public post, so it stays with the people you invited.
What should guests bring?
It is up to you. You can say that nothing is needed, or name a small gift, such as a plant or something for the kitchen. The gift sample above has a line you can copy into your message.
Is Paanyaya free?
Yes. Designing the card, sending links to every guest, replies, and check-in at the door are all free, with no ads on your guests' invitations and no watermark on the card.
